Baby Reindeer (2024)

Baby Reindeer is a deeply emotional and, at times, disturbing exploration of stalking, abuse, trauma, and mental health. The series allows Richard Gadd to tell his story, making it one of the most realistic media depictions of stalking and its impact on victims. Despite the heavy subject matter, Gadd masterfully works moments of dark humor into the series, and he and Jessica Gunning offer realistic and mesmerizing performances. Baby Reindeer is both difficult and rewarding to watch as it's not afraid to make viewers uncomfortable with its profound exploration of abuse and trauma.

Baby Reindeer isn’t your typical stalker story. First off, it’s based on a real story, and secondly, comedian Richard Gadd admits in the series that at times he willingly fueled the dynamic between him and his stalker. The show is so raw that it’ll make you squirm. You’ll want to turn it off…but the corrupted relationship between Gadd and his stalker is just too engrossing to turn away from. If you enjoyed shows like I May Destroy You or The Watcher, you’ll be hooked on Baby Reindeer.
